Film Intro
I have created a film ident using the technologically advanced software on Motion, designed and created by Apple developers. The software allows users to create effects to overlay into a Final cut project (Like after effects on premiere). Within the development of my own project I had a thought process in thinking, what did I have to do to allow the film genre of Social Realism also be portrayed even within the film introduction.
This is my first draft at the development of my film introduction. This took me about 30 minutes to create and upload to YouTube. We firstly see the circular ring be created on the opening as well as the text letter and a line be introduced. However, it is evident to see that there are some small issues within the actual creation. The movement of some of the factors within the intro are moving at incorrect times, such as the line and also letter 'P'. It was also pointed out to me that the overall design did not make it look as if it was a familiar social realism introduction towards the beginning of the film.
So I will therefore have to go back into Motion and redevelop my understanding of the dimensional physics that will be required to create a better film introduction and resemble the social realism film genre. I will have to consider things such as colour, text and also background lighting techniques. One of the major downfalls I think of this project was the use of the three dimensional lighting and also background colour that would contrast agaisnt the text colour, which in this case was white. Overall the general consenus was good apart from the minor detail which I have explained thoroughlly.
To make this into a more 'Social Realism' introduction stereotype I will have to think about the colours of the background and also recorrect the lighting of the whole scene which contrasts the text.
This is my second development of my film intro, which is; Pixx Productions. As explained in my previous introduction explanation, I had to improve on what I had created. I went back to the drawing board and thought, what makes a good film intro for the social realism genre?
I firstly looked at colour and text colour, looking at previous social realism films such as; Kez, This Is England and also Fishtank, it was obvious to see how similar they all were, they used the colour black, pro-dominantly and also a bold typeface witha fill colour of white. For this font to be applied, I did some research and found what I had to believe was the perfect font in which to use for the final piece. Bebas Neue, provided me with a thick base and finish, it was; simple, clean and slick in the final finish and did exactly what I wanted it too based on the colours used and font, I had a good general idea on what this was going to look like, next step was improving the motion...
In the previous intro I was able to show a circle that was being created as time went on, I did want to create a similiar effect, however I had to make it in tune to the theme of Social Realism. I thought about a amusing and serious motion that would play nicely to the audience as well as suiting the genre of the film. As shown I came up with two lines that moved perpendicular to each other. I also moved the light source that played a large effect on the text, in that the reduced opacity of the white would overshade the colour of the text into black creating a dirty effect.
