In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

In a variety of ways ‘the Game’, has an abundance to stick to many codes and conventions, them both being from the genre and characters point of view. A nervy and secretive lonely boy with this other character who we as the audience are unaware of who she actually is, all we see is her face, yet to the boy she is only known as ‘Shygirl108’.As one would expect from a Social Realism film, a slow build up to this anomaly, with black outs and cut to cut scenes, using effective and quirky sounds, for the audience to understand that the matter that is occurring isn’t to be taken lightly. The pace of the blackouts  continuously builds up creating this questionable scene that would create a heart palpitating scene for the audience in question of why is 'Simon’ running. The genre must be portrayed quickly for the audience to understand what is happening and can clinch small amounts of information and put it together to create a potential story for the characters.

The camera work is also important, in that low, and high risen angles show a vast amount of detail and the effect of mise en scene comes into play and the audience can therefore understand the class of the characters. Still camera shots are fairly important as when new information breaks the effect upon the character will be shown, whether it is joy or portrayal. Quick fire shots has been seen in past Social Realism genre films such as, Shane Meadows ‘This Is England’, in which violent characters will have a heated confrontation and possibly fight, in which I had taken influence from and portrayed this camera technique in my work.
